Data Wiping

Your data disappears. The proof stays.

Protecting your sensitive data is our priority. Our refurbishing partners use certified erasure solutions to guarantee the permanent, irreversible destruction of your data, with certificates to prove it.

GDPR compliance

Our processes comply with the General Data Protection Regulation, from collection to certificate.

Erasure certificate

You receive the certificates proving your data has been permanently deleted.

Maximum security

Methods compliant with international standards, chosen for each type of media.

Standards

The standard first, the software second.

What matters is the method applied and the proof that it worked. Our partners pick the right method for each type of media, and the certificate states it.

NIST SP 800-88

The international reference for media sanitisation, with three levels: Clear, Purge and Destroy.

IEEE 2883-2022

The most recent standard, designed for SSDs, NVMe drives and flash memory.

ADISA

An independent certification that tests erasure software in real-world conditions.

DoD 5220.22-M

A multi-pass overwrite method, still required in some specifications.

ISO/IEC 27001

The reference framework for information security management.

GDPR

Articles 17 and 32: right to erasure and security of processed data.

Software

Certified software, recognised by the industry.

Our refurbishing partners use certified software for secure data erasure. The choice depends on the partner and the type of device.

Blancco

One of the world leaders in certified erasure, for computers, servers and mobiles.

  • ADISA
  • NIST 800-88
  • ISO 27001

Aiken

An ADISA-certified solution for erasing hard drives, SSDs and mobile devices.

  • ADISA
  • NIST 800-88
  • HDD, SSD, mobile

Certus

ADISA-certified erasure software, compliant with NIST and IEEE standards, for hard drives and SSDs.

  • ADISA
  • NIST 800-88
  • IEEE 2883

And other certified tools

Manufacturer erase commands (Secure Erase, cryptographic erase) for SSDs and smartphones, where the standard allows it.

  • Secure Erase
  • Crypto Erase

Physical destruction H4 and H5

Media that cannot be erased is destroyed to the DIN 66399 standard. It is never put back into circulation.

H4Particles of 2,000 mm² at most. For sensitive and personal data.
H5Particles of 320 mm² at most. For confidential information.

A single forgotten drive is enough to expose your data.

The GDPR requires you to prove that every storage medium has been erased.

Frequently asked questions

How is my data erased?

At our refurbishing partners, each storage medium is erased with certified software, using the method the standard sets for that type of media: overwriting for a hard drive, Purge commands or cryptographic erase for an SSD, secure reset for a smartphone. The result is verified, then recorded in the certificates.

How should I prepare my equipment before refurbishment?

Before collection, sign out of the accounts set up on each device: Apple ID and Find My (iCloud), Google account, Samsung Knox. Also remove the devices from your MDM (Apple Business Manager, Intune…). Otherwise the device stays locked and cannot be refurbished. You can also reset the devices: certified erasure is carried out afterwards in every case.

Which erasure standards do you apply?

Mainly NIST SP 800-88 (Clear and Purge levels) and IEEE 2883-2022 for SSDs and flash memory. The DoD 5220.22-M method remains available if your specifications require it. The software used is ADISA-certified.

Which software do your partners use?

Certified software such as Blancco, Aiken or Certus, or manufacturer erase commands where the standard allows it. The choice depends on the partner and the device; the method applied always appears on the certificate.

Do you also erase smartphones and tablets?

Yes. iOS and Android smartphones and tablets are erased with certified tools: data is overwritten or the encryption key is replaced, making it unrecoverable, before a factory reset.

What do the erasure certificates contain?

For the devices in your batch: serial number, method and standard applied, date and erasure result. They are ready to file for your audits and GDPR records.

Is certified erasure GDPR compliant?

Yes. The GDPR requires data security up to the end of the equipment's life (Article 32) and the ability to delete personal data (Article 17). The certificates let you demonstrate it.

What should we do before collection?

Remove devices from your management tool (MDM, Apple Business Manager, Intune) and turn off activation locks such as Find My. Otherwise a device can stay locked and cannot be reused.

What is Revalo?

Revalo is a French company founded in 2022 that specialises in taking back business IT equipment. It collects companies’ laptops, smartphones and tablets, wipes the data with certified erasure, then refurbishes or recycles every device.
